Barely a little more than a half hour drive from the Kaanapali Resort and our bike shop, West Maui Cycles in Lahaina, the Makawao Forest Reserve is one of our favorite organized mountain bike trail systems. Cyclists the world over are hearing more about the new trails and maintenance efforts going into making this one of the best organized mountain biking trail systems on Maui. There isn't a day passes that a bike renal customer doesn't ask us for a car bike rack with directions on how to get to the Makawao Forest to go mountain biking! With trails for all rider skill levels and located in a cool rain forest conveniently located on the slopes of Haleakala, mountain bike riders won't want to miss the opportunity to go riding in the Makawao Forest Reserve.
